About

Go Flush Yourself is an upland hunting podcast focused on hunting with flushing dogs. Alongside hunting, training, and life with flushers, we dig into shotguns, gear, bird hunting culture, and the broader world of upland hunting.

If you’re into Labradors, Cockers, Goldens, Springers, and the rest of the flushing and retrieving breeds, you’re in the right place.

Hosted by Matt Millbauer and Jared Kirk, the show features a mix of guests ranging from world-class spaniel and retriever trainers like Charlie Thorburn, Jordan Horak, and Todd Agnew, to upland voices such as Ron Boehme (The Hunting Dog Podcast) and Rob Hubble (Northwest Wingshooters), to conservation leaders like former BHA CEO Patrick Berry, and outdoor writers including Andrew Wayment and Chris Midgette.

We also regularly bring on everyday hunters, along with recurring guests like Jon Nguyen and Josh Riddle. On top of that, we explore upland hunting history, dig into books, and occasionally wander into whatever rabbit hole the conversation demands.

If upland hunting is your thing—and especially if flushing dogs are part of it—this is your show.

Matt Millbauer

Matt hunts upland birds across Washington’s Columbia Basin with his springer spaniels, Bridge and Sophie. He unapologetically loves chasing pheasants more than any other bird with his Browning Citori. He serves on his local Pheasants Forever chapter board. He also creates bird dog portraits to raise funds for conservation nonprofits through Bird Dog Portraits.

Jared Kirk

Jared is a lifelong hunter and also lives and hunts in Washington's Columbia Basin. He hunts over his springer, Bones, and his favorite bird to chase is by far quail. Jared's favorite bird to chase with Bones is valley quail. If you run into Jared in the field, he'll most likely have a trusty pump shotgun, namely a Remington 870.
